The Orbeliani Bath is one of the most famous and visually recognisable sulfur bathhouses thanks to its Persian-style architecture.
It is named after the noble Orbeliani family and is located in the old district of Abanotubani.
This “bath quarter” of the city emerged around natural hot sulfur springs.
The bath became especially renowned after being visited in 1870 by Alexander Dumas the Elder, one of its halls still bears the name of the famous writer.
