The image shows the Mtskheta railway station on the historical Poti–Tbilisi Railway.
Constructed in 1872, the line became the first major railway constructed in the Caucasus.
Sadly, the building is no longer extant after the modernisation of the railway during the Soviet period.
Just uphill from the railway station is the late XIX-century Olga Convent (Olga Monastery).
During construction work near the site of the station, the lead engineer Gornich discovered buried ruins of an ancient church on a newly-acquired piece of land.
His wife, Olga Gornich restored the monastery and became its first abbess.
