The Saltynskiy Bridge (now lost) crossed the Kara-Koisu river near the Dagestan village of Salta.
Originally, the bridge was made of wood.
Only after the Caucasian War (1817–1864) imperial engineers constructed a metal bridge in its place, 79 meters above the river level.
Since some of the soldiers involved in its construction were under the command of Grand Duke George Mikhailovich (1863–1919), the bridge was also called the Georgievsky Bridge.
