The Devdoraki Glacier is located on the northeastern slope of Mount Kazbek. It is known for avalanches of ice and displaced soil, which from time to time block traffic on the Georgian Military Road. Since the 19th century, these ice barriers have had a specific name — the “Kazbek Blockages.” Geologists believe that the famous Yermolov Stone near Verkhniy Lars appeared as a result of one of them.
