Gori. Holiday. Tsarskaya street

Tsarskaya street in the city of Gori (further name — Stalin street) developed in the XIX and early XX centuries.

It received its name in honor of Emperor Alexander II’s visit to Gori in 1871.

Since the street was located in the city center, it likely housed administrative buildings and the post office.

According to many sources, all the city’s hotels were located exclusively on Tsarskaya street.

The street was also home to the Gori Theological School, built in 1818.

The historic center of Gori was severely damaged during the 1920 earthquake: 756 buildings were destroyed, leading to significant changes in the city’s layout.
