Borjomi. Tsagveri spring

Tsaghveri is a balneological resort in the Borjomi area.

It is located on the northern slope of the Trialeti Range, at the confluence of the Gujaratistskali and Bakuriani rivers, at an elevation of 1,020–1,130 meters above sea level.

The resort’s history dates back to the second half of the XIX century, when Adolf Aleksandrovich Remert (1835–1902), head of the Mineral Waters Administration of the Tiflis Governorate and a physician, first studied the healing properties of these waters.

In 1867, Remert presented a report on the climate and mineral waters of Tsaghveri to the Caucasian Medical Society, which led to the development of resort and urban infrastructure – a railway station connecting the town with the Borjomi resort (1901), the first school (1910) and the first sanatorium (1913).
