Borjomi. Olga bridge

The Olga Bridge in Borjomi was built in 1868.

This suspension bridge was named in honor of the wife of the Viceroy of the Caucasus, Olga Fyodorovna (1839–1891).

On the right bank, the Hofmeisterskaya street led away from the Olga Bridge, was already the edge of the city and to its north lay the vast Remmert Park.

Unfortunately, the original bridge has not survived—it was washed away by the 1968 flood, along with all the Borjomi bridges over the Kura river.

Nevertheless, the first “new” Borjomi bridge was built on the same spot where the Olga Bridge once stood.

The new bridge was named the “Bridge of Beauty.”
