The resort village of Tsagveri is located 16 kilometers from Borjomi.
Thanks to its favorable climate, Tsagveri specializes in the treatment of pulmonary diseases.
In addition to its therapeutic climate, Tsagveri is also famous for its mineral springs, which are used to treat digestive disorders.
The healing properties of the resort were first studied by the head of the Mineral Water Administration of the Tiflis Province, Dr. Adolf Alexandrovich Remmert (1835–1902).
In 1867, Remmert presented a report on the climate and mineral waters of Tsagveri to the Caucasian Medical Society.
As a result, at the beginning of the XX century, resort infrastructure began to be developed in Tsagveri: a railway station was built, along with a pharmacy, general store, small bakery, and Ыummer theater.
