In Gagra, at the initiative of Prince Oldenburg in the early 1900s, a first-class resort was established.

In 1904, by the Gagripshi River, on the site of an old temporary bathing facility, a light and elegant reinforced concrete bathhouse was built.

It featured a terrace on the lower floor and two large verandas on the upper floor.

The ground floor housed changing rooms for sea bathers, the second floor had baths, and the third floor was dedicated to light and color therapy as well as therapeutic gymnastics.
